Migration methodology including templates, standards and principles related to migration conceptual design, logical and physical mapping, migration specific testing, documentation, reporting, error handling and cutover planning.
Project scope and targets
In order to improve its collateral management operation and make it more transparent, Bank decided to overhaul its related current processes and implement new applications. They opted for the intended groupwide solution and introduced the Apello Colman as the main collateral management system.
Additionally, Bank also introduced SAP RE-FX for collateral asset maintenance, and a new application EBR, for registering and storing data of collateral appraisals.
Aim of the collateral management system migration project was to design and implement the complex process of transforming and uploading data in this three new target systems from the core banking system (Symbols), and partly from another instance of SAP RE-FX, used by Bank Jelzálog (Mortgage) and other entities.

Our main contribution
Conceptual design, including migration strategy creation and detailed migration project plan.
Logical, physical design (mapping) and execution of the automated migration transformation process by our own migration tool.
Providing test data and specific migration error reports for the migration testing and validation.
Supporting rollout planning and execution of live migration process.

Project organization and roles
The migration team was part of the integration team, and worked under the control of the Bank’s delegated PM.
The migration team closely collaborated with the external target system vendors, Apello and SAP, but independently designed and delivered the data transformation process and provided methodology support for the complete, end-to-end migration process, as well as the rollout planning and execution.
